Shades
And Tones is a home based business, located in San Fernando and
operated by two persons; Matthew and Denise.
We're about
three things really, cutting costs...doing good printing...giving
clients what they like and want on their clothes.
A
bit about him:
As a boy, Matthew realized he could draw, after watching his older
brother draw Iron-Man from a comic book. Trying to do this for
himself, Matthew drew all sorts of things and was fond of drawing
what he saw in comic books. Art classes in secondary school offered
no real guidance for his interests or direction for his talent,
so he put drawings on vests and old jerseys with markers. Again
observing the actions of his older brother by spray painting cardboard-stenciled
images onto jerseys, he used that method to experiment. Stenciling
was great...but he lacked a definitive direction for his creative
inclinations. After leaving it alone for fifteen years; Matthew
only learnt about the whole process of screen printing and computer
graphic arts in 2004, again through his older brother. Since then,
screen printing has been a joy and re-discovery of himself.

bit about her:
Denise always wanted clothes that no one else had. Not having
the opportunities to make or purchase alot of new clothes, she
used old scraps of cloth and made clothing for her dolls. During
her teen years she drew her design ideas in a notebook and hoped
that one day she would be able to have her ideas printed. In 2004
through the process of screen printing, Denise was able to finally
do what she had always dreamed about. Being able to live this
childhood dream is indescribable. Revisiting these childhood dreams
has brought loads of happiness and fulfillment.

bit about SnT:
What began as a personal project has afforded us the opportunity
to provide this personalized service to people, who want to wear
stuff that’s unique and special to them.
We’ve
developed an approach to the screen printing process that makes
it cheaper for us and our clients. Just like walking into a store
and selecting a shirt off of a rack, through SnT you can select,
request or submit any print you like and have it ready to wear
in a few days. We’re here for hobbyists, activists, all
sports and entertainment fans, families, clubs, kids, geeks, special
occasions, festivals and social concerns.
